Dhwajasthambha Pratiṣṭha

Dwajastambham, also known as the temple flagstaff, is an important and sacred structure found in Hindu temples, usually positioned in front of the main sanctum. It symbolizes the divine presence, spiritual glory, and sanctity of the temple. During important temple festivals and ceremonies, the temple flag (Dhvajam) is ceremonially hoisted on the Dwajastambham, marking the commencement of the festivities and inviting the blessings and presence of the presiding deity. The Dwajastambham is traditionally made of wood, stone, or metal, and may be beautifully decorated with traditional carvings and ornamental designs. It represents devotion, victory of righteousness, and the connection between the earthly and divine realms, making it a significant feature of temple architecture and worship.
